IRISH LEAGUE: Glenavon may appeal Eoin Bradley's six-game ban

Bradley was hit with the hefty suspension after being cited for a head-butting offence in the recent Danske Bank Premiership match with Crusaders at Seaview.

The Derry GAA star was shown a straight red card by referee Raymond Hetherington following a clash with Crues skipper Colin Coates.

Hamilton admits Glenavon may appeal the six-match ban, but only if the club can obtain footage from the Track Champ live video streaming service.

“We are trying to get our hands on that footage of the game. Eoin is adamant he has been hard done by,” Hamilton said.

“If we can get that footage then we may look into appealing, but if we can’t then we will just have to accept the ban.

“Colin Coates only received a yellow card for the incident, and Eoin feels aggrieved at being sent off.”

Bradley has bagged 17 goals this season, and his absence would leave a significant void in Glenavon’s attack over the next six games.

“It would be a massive blow if Eoin is banned for six games. He has been one of the standout strikers in the Premiership this season,” Hamilton added.

“He is a strong, powerful striker who offers you so much in attack. I think his physical nature hasn’t done him any favours this season.

“Eoin is strong and tries to stay on his feet, even when he is being fouled. I think it this contributed to his reaction in the Crusaders game.

“He doesn’t get much protection from referees and in this instance he has reacted.

“I think he is too strong for his own good at times.

“We will see if we can obtain the video footage. We received the email on his suspension this morning, and I believe the club has four days to lodge an appeal.

“So we will see what transpires over the coming days and take it from there. But if we lose Eoin then we will just have to deal with it.

“It will be a blow, but we have players who can come in and do a job.”

Glenavon’s next assignment is Saturday’s Premiership showdown with Linfield at Windsor Park.

“It is another massive challenge, but every game is like that,” Hamilton added.

“You get the same three points for beating Linfield, Crusaders, Cliftonville or Warrenpoint. It doesn’t make a difference who you play.”
