IRISH LEAGUE: Warrenpoint goalkeeper Johnny Parr could be forced to miss Glenavon clash

The big shot-stopper has played a vital part in Town’s recent resurgence, which has given them a genuine chance or remaining in the top flight.

Even though they remain at the bottom of the table, Gray’s boys are right on the tails of the teams above them – just one point adrift of 11th placed Carrick Rangers.

After holding champions Crusaders (1-1) in their last outing, Gray is keeping fingers crossed Parr passes a late fitness test.

“Johnny took a knock – Stevie Moan also picked up an injury in the last game,” said Gray.

“We’ll give them every chance of making it. It’s no coincidence that our good run of late has coupled with Johnny’s returning from injury around the turn of the year.

“He has been a big player for us.”

Gray will be without midfielder John McGuigan who played his last game against Crusaders before moving to America.

“John will be a big miss, but we are confident we can carry on where he left off,” added Gray.

“Glenavon are the league’s form team.

“They are in a position where they are pushing for a European place, so they will be hoping to harden their challenge. It’s up to us to deliver on the day.

“We have tough games coming up. We haven’t set a target in terms of points. We just have to make sure the confidence levels are high.”
