IRISH LEAGUE: Win at Dungannon gives Carrick survival lifeline

Carrick Rangers gave their survival hopes a major boost with this victory over Dungannon.

They came from behind to claim a deserved three points at Stangmore Park.

Gary Haveron’s side got off to the worst possible start when they conceded in the sixth minute.

The ball was played inside to Cormac Burke, who took a touch before guiding a low strike between the goalkeeper and his near post.

Carrick almost hit back immediately, but goalkeeper Andy Coleman was quickly off his line to save from Miguel Chines.

The visitors levelled in the 25th minute.

Aaron Harmon crossed, Adam Salley’s initial effort was blocked but he fired home at the second attempt.

And Carrick went in front eight minutes from the break.

The lively Harmon got in front of his marker to meet a cross and head home.

Carrick made it 3-1 in the 69th minute.

Kyle Cherry was brought down in the box, resulting in a penalty, and Miguel Chines fired home the spot kick.
