Ballymena United beat Dungannon Swifts at the Warden Street Showgrounds for the first time since 2007 with a hard-fought 2-1 victory.
United went in front on 15 minutes when Alan Teggart’s left wing corner was powerfully headed home by Allan Jenkins.
Shane Dolan hit the crossbar before Dungannon replied through Darren Boyce’s low free kick on 62 minutes.
Within 60 seconds, however, Ballymena were back in front as Shane Dolan volleyed home from Gary Thompson’s cross.
United spurned an opportunity to go 3-1 ahead when they were awarded a penalty after Alan Teggart was brought down by keeper Gareth Buchanan but Alan Davidson’s penalty rattled back off the crossbar.
