Glenn Ferguson is under no illusions as Ballymena United prepare for a stern test of their Premiership credentials this week.

The Sky Blues kicked-off the new season with a solid 2-0 win over Warrenpoint Town at the weekend.

The win sees the Showgrounds club sit second in the Premiership table – just behind Portadown who they meet this Saturday.

Before that is an equally daunting test against Belfast heavyweights Crusaders at Seaview on Wednesday (7.45pm).

And Ferguson insists his players are ready for the challenge that lies in wait.

“We know we have two very tough games coming up, but every game is tough in this league,” Ferguson said.

“We have shown in the past that we can raise our game against the so-called bigger teams, and we will need to do that this week.

“I was pleased to come away with a 2-0 win against Warrenpoint on Saturday. Those are the games we want to be winning.

“We now have to prepare for a big test at Seaview, and then another massive game against Portadown at our ground.”
