Another win, another three points and one step closer to the League One title for Rangers – but this 2-0 win over Ayr United at Somerset Park was hard-fought against a side who took no prisoners right from the opening seconds.

Nicky Law gave Ally McCoist’s side the lead just after the break before Jon Daly headed home Lee Wallace’s delivery to seal all three points for the visitors.

However it was the performance of Ger’s keeper Cammy Bell that drew plaudits with full-back Richard Foster the latest to call for international recognition for the custodian who produced several outstanding saves.
