Boss Platt intends to play it cool
COLERAINE boss David Platt is refusing to get carried away with the Bannsiders' emphatic start to the Premiership season.
Thirteen games down and the Showgrounds club sits in fourth and only two points off league leaders Crusaders.
Coleraine have stealthily moved into a dominant position in the standings, creeping under most supporters' radar to cement their place at the top end of proceedings.
This afternoon derby rivals Institute visit Ballycastle Road for what should be another blood and thunder clash.
But despite their impressive statistics, Platt insists Coleraine will be underdogs against John Gregg's Drumahoe outfit.
"Institute beat us earlier in the season at their place, so I think you have to take that into account. So on head-to-head form Institute will be favourites for Saturday," Platt said.
"It is another tough game for us. I seem to be saying that in every interview I give but it is true. The added factor that this is that it is a derby clash and there will be no quarter given.
"Institute were narrowly beaten at Crusaders a couple of weeks ago, and they were unlucky at Glentoran, so their away form isn't as bad as people think.
John Gregg has laughed off Platt's assessment that his side are favourites.
"He should look at last season's results at their ground. They beat us 6-1 and 5-1 last year."
