Cliftonville big hitters to get chance against Cork City

Tommy Breslin admits he will play a number of his big hitters in Monday’s Setanta Sports Cup leg clash with Cork City at Solitude.

The Reds lost 4-0 at Turner’s Cross seven days ago and face an uphill battle to progress in the second round.

But following Saturday’s postponed North Belfast derby Breslin wants his players to get some valuable game time.

“All of Saturday’s preparation went out the window with the game being postponed, so I will play a lot of the regular first team guys on Monday,” Breslin said.

“We want to keep up the momentum and keep the lads ticking over, so that is the plan.

“I am not saying we will score five and win the tie. We face an uphill battle after last week.”

Diarmuid O’Carroll returns from suspension while defender Ciaran Donaghy could make his first appearance since recovering from a knee injury.
