Cliftonville striker Diarmuid O’Carroll insists ‘there is no room for error’

Cliftonville striker Diarmuid O’Carroll insists there is no room for error as the league leaders look to bolster their title credentials on Tuesday night.

The Reds travel to West Belfast to take on derby rivals Donegal Celtic.

It sees Tommy Breslin’s men use up their game in hand over chief title challengers Crusaders and Linfield.

If they can earn victory on the Suffolk Road on Tuesday they will go nine points clear at the top.

But defeat against the Wee Hoops will blow the race for the Gibson Cup wide open once more.

“It’s very important we make the most of this game in hand,” O’Carroll said.

“We know the clubs below us want to put pressure on us. We also know a win on Tuesday would extend our lead at the top.

“All we can do is focus on our own performances and results. It will be a real test at Donegal Celtic. Games there always have a derby feel to them.

“They are scrapping for points and it can be a tight pitch, so we’re preparing for a physical battle. We’ll have to be at our best.”
