Over 40 coaches from across Northern Ireland took part in the Irish FA UEFA B Part 1 Coaching award in Newtownards and Craigavon. The courses took place over seven days and were organised by Grassroots Development Officers Kyle Spiers and Ken Duncan.

The participants furthered their knowledge of coaching attacking and defending principles and also completed a Laws of the Game exam and Irish FA Coaching Disabled Footballers Award.

Nigel Best, Irish FA Coach Education Manager said: “I believe each course participant has come away with more knowledge and have enhanced their coaching ability. I see it as vitally important that we up-skill our coaches at all levels of the game so that the players receive greater benefit from the contact time spent with their coach.”

Nigel added: “I must say a massive thank you to Ards Borough Council and Craigavon Borough Council for their support without which these courses would not have been possible.”
