Dungannon Swifts moved into the Irish Cup quarter finals as they beat Coleraine 3-2.

Both sides had chances in the first 15 minutes with Stevie Lowry and Stefan Lowry going close at either end.

Eugene Ferry got down well to hold Ryan Harpur’s long range free on 20 minutes, before Howard Beverland drew a good stop out of Gareth Buchanan six minutes later. Eoin Bradley should have put his side in front on the half hour as he rounded Buchanan, but he could only find the side netting from a tight angle.

The Swifts opened the scoring on 38 minutes as Grant Hutchinson curled home a delightful shot from just outside the box.

Coleraine were back on terms four minutes later as Joe McNeill deflected in Harkin’s attempted shot.

Dungannon edged back in front on 52 minutes as Harpur fired in a superb effort from just outside the box.

The Swifts grabbed a third with 13 minutes to go as Johnny Topley’s cross-cum-shot caught out Ferry and found the top corner.

Coleraine gave themselves a lifeline with a minute to go as Bradley curled through a fantastic free kick.
