COLERAINE 1 LISBURN DISTILLERY 1
Lisburn Distillery moved off the bottom or the table following this draw with Coleraine.
It took a wonder strike by Stephen Lowry to earn the Bannsiders a point after Phil Simpson put Tim McCann’s men in front.
It was a disappointing first half with neither side really providing much of an attacking threat.
In fact it took until the 45th minute for a real opening to be created.
Aaron Canning picked out Stephen Lowry with a great pass, but Billy Brennan was out quickly to block.
It was the visitors who threatened first in the second half as Michael Hegarty’s neat flick sent Ruairi Harkin clear but Brennan saved again on 53 minutes.
From the resulting corner Howard Beverland had a header cleared off the line.
It was the hosts who broke the deadlock with 74 minutes gone.
Coleraine failed to deal with a corner and Philip Simpson fired in after a scramble.
The Bannsiders drew level in spectacular fashion with five minutes to go as Stephen Lowry fired in a free kick from over 40 yards out.
