Coleraine 2 Ards 0

Coleraine record their first win in nine games with a 2-0 win over Ards.

The visitors made the early running with Mark McClelland and Neill Dougan going close. Dougan drew a great save out of debutant Eugene Ferry and David Ogilby was on hand to nick the ball off McClelland’s toe as he looked certain to score.

At the other end Alan Blayney was at full stretch on 23 minutes as Stevie Lowry glanced Harkin’s free kick goalwards.

Just before half time Ards again drew godd saves out of Ferry as James Knowles and William Faulkner tried their luck from distance.

On 55 minutes the deadlock was finally broken as new signing Stephen Dooley rifled in from close range.

Coleraine suffered a blow just before the hour mark as David Ogilby was dismissed for bringing down Faulkner.

The Bannsiders gave themselves some breathing space with 12 minutes to go as Eoin Bradley fired home from the spot after Hunter had pulled him back in the box.
