David Jeffrey believes consistency will be key to any side’s title ambitions this season.
The Blues made it eight games unbeaten in the Premiership with Saturday’s spirited draw with Crusaders.
Linfield’s last defeat came against the Crues back on August 24, but since then Jeffrey’s side have proved their title credentials.
“Consistency is always important, and you want to keep the run going,” he said.
“Any team that can on on a run and pick up points most weeks will be at the top end of the table.
“The clean sheets have been pleasing. We conceded eight in our first four games, and that was not good enough.
“But we worked very hard with the players and things have been improving.”
Jeffrey believes his players deserve credit for the impressive run they have embarked on.
“People say we haven’t been beating anyone recently, but that is being disrespectful to other teams,. Look at the results on Saturday. Ards beat Portadown 3-1. Warrenpoint drew with Cliftonville and missed a penalty and had other chances. This league is very tight.”
