GLENTORAN 0 CRUSADERS 3
Glentoran were unceremoniously dumped off the top of the Danske Bank Premiership after a 0-3 home defeat by Crusaders, last season’s runners-up.
The Glens dominated possession in the first half but failed to convert any of their chances while Crusaders scored when Colin Coates headed home Chris Morrow’s free kick on 28 minutes.
The Glens failed to learn from this and the same combination put Crusaders 2-0 ahead on 55 minutes, Morrow with the free, Coates with the header.
On the hour, as Glentoran howled in vain for an offside flag, Jordan Owens trundled number three for the Crues who were now on easy street.
It could have been worse for the Glens when the visitors got a penalty after Elliott Morris was adjudged to have fouled Timmy Adamson but the keepr saved Coates spot kick.
