Darren Murphy hopes new signing James Costello can make an immediate impact for Dungannon Swifts on Saturday afternoon.
Costello arrived from Ballymena United this week and is set to make his debut against Lisburn Distillery.
Dungannon sit seven points above basement club Distillery – and can boast a game in hand.
Murphy hopes his side can extend that gap at Stangmore Park.
“When you look at Saturday’s fixtures, it is one that sticks out because of the situation at the bottom of the table,” Murphy said.
“If we can win then we will stretch clear of the bottom. If Distillery win then they will close to within four points of us.
“So there is a lot to play for – for both teams – and it should make for an entertaining game.
“It is important we don’t allow Distillery to gain ground on us, and we will be going out to win the game.
“We now have James Costello on board and that freshens things up. He will come into the squad for Saturday.
“James will be out to prove a point, and our goalkeeper Niall Morgan will be playing his last game before he heads off to play GAA with Tyrone.
“So I am sure Niall will want to sign off on a positive note, while James will want to kick-start his career with Dungannon.”
