Coleraine’s winless streak against Ballinamallard continued on Saturday as they had to make do with a point apiece in this opening day encounter.

It was a largely forgettable affair if truth be told as both teams struggled to create many chances at a sunkissed Showgrounds.

Jason McCartney put the visitors in front just before the break. Coleraine upped the ante in the second half in a bid to get back into the game. And the pressure finally told late on as David McDaid slotted home after a great pass from Neil McCafferty to earn his side a draw.
