Derry City produced a stunning performance at the Brandywell when putting Aberystwyth Town to the sword in this Europa League tie.

In the 14th minute, Derry broke the deadlock when Patrick McEleney displayed great calmness to turn a defender before curling a low shot into the Aberystwyth net.

Danish referee, Mads-Kristofferson, sent off Aberystwyth’s keeper for a challenge on Michael Duffy on 22 minutes and Strabane man Rory Patterson rifled home from the spot for 2-0.

After the break, Mark Timlin let fly from 30 yards to make it 3-0 and Barry McNamee ended the rout five minutes from the end.
