Dungannon Swifts could face a fight to keep hold of in-form striker Darren Boyce during the January transfer window.

Boyce – who has scored 12 goals in 14 appearances this season – is in the middle of a one-year loan deal from Coleraine.

The striker has impressed this season, and was this week named BT Sport Northern Ireland Football Writers’ Association Player of the Month for November.

Boyce bagged seven goals during the month, including a hat-trick against Glenavon on Friday night.

The prolific form has alerted a number of clubs ahead of the transfer window opening on January 1.

Ballymena United are one club believed to be tracking the former Glentoran hit-man, while Coleraine could recall their player.

Bannsiders boss Oran Kearney admits he has already spoken with Boyce.

“I spoke with Darren last week about his progress at Dungannon. The move has certainly benefitted him,” Kearney said.

“I will speak to Darren Murphy (Dungannon boss) closer to the time and take it from there.”

Reflecting on his award, striker Boyce said: “I am delighted to receive this award. It reflects on how well the team is doing.

“We enjoyed a good month and we have picked up a few wins, so hopefully we can keep that going.

“I am loving it here at Dungannon. I am enjoying my football again and have managed a few goals.”
