Glentoran goalkeeper Elliott Morris emerged the hero in this Setanta cup quarter final, second leg game at the Oval.

Eddie Patterson’s team trailed 5-1 form the first leg in Dublin a fortnight ago, which meant the game was a purely a damage limitation exercise.

But Morris prevented further embarrassment with a string of breath taking saves to deny hungry Rovers striker Eamon Sayed on a number of occasions.

Rovers will now meet Dundalk in the semi final next Monday night.

Glentoran: Morris, Bradley, Addis, Birney (Nelson 66), Garrett, McAlorum, Clarke, O’Hanlon (Hughes 61), Stewart, McCaffrey (McKee 41), Allen.

Subs: Miskimmin, Boyd, Kerr.

Shamrock Rovers: Murphy, Madden, Cornwall, Kenna, Byrne (Kehoe 84), Kelly, Robinson, Bayly, McCabe (O’Connor 61), Sheppard, Zayed.
