Emphatic Crusaders close the gap on leaders Cliftonville

DON CELTIC 2 CRUSADERS 5

Timmy Adamson bagged a classy hat-trick to help Crusaders inch to within four points of Danske Bank Premiership leaders Cliftonville.

Adamson’s treble eased the Crues to a 5-2 victory over Donegal Celtic who return to the bottom of the table.

Paul Heatley started the scoring on 13 minutes but Sean Cleary replied for the home side with a 25-yard strike in the 43rd minute.

Adamson restored Crusaders’ lead in the 56th minute before Gareth McKeown added a third two minutes later.

Adamson was at it again with headed goals in the 73rd and 78th minutes, while Peter McCann bagged a late consolation for the Wee Hoops in the 87th minute.
