One player at Ibrox who is certainly keenly anticipating the forthcoming Scottish Cup Semi-Final between Rangers and Dundee United is Jon Daly who scored the Light Blues’ second goal in Monday’s 2-0 replay win over Albion Rovers.
However he is under no illusions as to the scale of the task awaiting the Ibrox men, having enjoyed a successful six-year spell on Tayside.
“We know it will be a tough test, they are a good side with good players and they are doing well in the League,” he said. “It’ll be a one-off game with a great atmosphere. It should be a fantastic battle between two good sides.
“It will probably be a bigger test than we’ve had all season but the boys will be looking forward to it. We will need to play to our full potential - but we’ve got plenty of games before then and we’ve got to make sure we keep winning.”
Jon played in the Dundee United side that won the Scottish Cup with a 3-0 win over Ross County, and scored twice at the penultimate stage last year as Celtic won in extra-time by the odd goal in seven..
“I had six great years at Tannadice. Winning the Scottish Cup in 2010 was a fantastic achievement,” he added.
