Eddie Patterson believes new signing Barry Holland is a welcome addition to Glentoran’s fledgling squad
Holland has agreed a one-year deal with the Oval club – subject to a medical.
The 30-year-old could feature against former club Cliftonville in Saturday’s Danske Bank Premiership opener at Solitude, but will undergo a late fitness test on a hamstring injury.
“Barry has been training with us over the summer and we felt he was worth a contract offer,” Patterson said.
“He is a solid professional who I know plenty about having signed him during my time at Cliftonville.
“He is still at a young enough age and he can offer us a lot of experience. With a young squad, the more experienced players you have the better.”
