PORTADOWN are sweating over the fitness of defender Garry Breen for Saturday’s trip to Danske Bank Premiership champions Linfield.
Breen is struggling with a muscle strain ahead of the clash at Windsor Park.
The 23-year-old picked up the strain during training on Tuesday night and has been rated “extremely doubtful” by manager Ronnie McFall.
“We will keep an eye on Garry as the week progresses, but at this moment in time it doesn’t look good,” McFall said.
“It is unlikely he will make the trip to Windsor, but we will hold out for as long as we can.
“It is another injury blow for us and sums up the season so far. We were crippled by injuries last season and it has carried into this year.
“But we will take a look at who is available and work with what we have.”
The Ports sit seventh in the Premiership, just a point above Linfield who lost 3-2 to Coleraine live on Sky Sports on Monday night.
