Glenavon boss Gary Hamilton has warned his players to be on their guard when they travel to Milltown on Wednesday night.
Hamilton has targeted maximum points from the midweek clash against Warrenpoint Town.
The Lurgan Blues kicked-off their season with a 2-2 draw with Crusaders on Saturday, while Warrenpoint suffered a 2-0 defeat to Ballymena United.
“We know Wednesday night will be a very tough game,” Hamilton said.
“Last season our game there was abandoned, and we were 1-0 down and we missed a penalty.
“Warrenpoint might not have a lot of big names in their squad, but one thing you can be sure of is that they will fight tooth and nail and they will be full of energy.
“But if we want to finish in the top six, or possibly higher, then these are the games we have to be winning.
“You have to be picking up points against the sides that finished in the bottom half last season.
“We have to be on our guard going there if we want to come away with a result.”
