Glentoran have bolstered their squad further with the signing of former Drogheda United midfielder Eric Foley.

The 26-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with the Glens, and follows hot on the heels of Nacho Novo who signed a one-year contract with the Oval club on Tuesday.

Foley started his career as a youth player with Celtic and has also played for Sporting Fingal and Galway United in the League of Ireland.

“He can dictate the pace and flow of a game with the great range of passing,” said Glentoran boss Alan Kernaghan.

“Eric is the sort of player we have been looking for since I arrived at Glentoran.

“He is also strong on set pieces and has an eye for goal from midfield. I am delighted he has chosen to join us.”

Dubliner Foley – who will wear the number 14 jersey next season – won the EA Sports Cup With Drogheda United and finished runner-up to Sligo Rovers in the 2012 Premier Division.

He was also an FAI Cup winner with Sporting Fingal and has been capped at under-16 and under-17 level for the Republic of Ireland.
