Glentoran appear to be on the verge of signing wanted striker Curtis Allen.
Glens boss Eddie Patterson has been in talks with the former Linfield and Inverness CT forward - and a deal could be concluded within the next 24 hours.
Glentoran defeated Dungannon Swifts yesterday to move into fourth spot in the Danske Bank Premiership.
And afterwards boss Patterson admitted talks were progressing with Allen as they looked to seal the deal.
“We are working hard to try and complete the move,” Patterson said.
“Talks are progressing and the club is pulling out all the stops to get the deal over the line.
“There are further talks planned tomorrow morning and we will take things from there.”
Premiership rivals Crusaders are also interested in Allen, while League of Ireland sides Sligo Rovers and Derry City are also believed to be monitoring the ex-Coleraine hitman.
But Glentoran appear to be in pole position to claim the signature of the 25-year-old.
The Oval club have also been linked with Portadown’s transfer-listed striker Kevin Braniff.
Glens defender Jimmy Callacher is expected to move to Linfield during the transfer window, while Ryan O’Neill has left the club to find work in America.
