DUNGANNON SWIFTS 1 GLENTORAN 3

Glentoran continued their impressive start to the season as an Andy Waterworth double clinched another three points at Stangmore Park.

The striker netted twice in the second half as Dungannon slumped to their second defeat of the week.

The Glens edged ahead when Jay Magee netted from the penalty spot in the first half, although that was cancelled out within seconds by Stephen O’Neill’s superb volley.

However, the visitors – and Waterworth – stepped it up in the second half to clinch the points.

An injury-hit Dungannon side also lost defender Emmet Friars midway through the first half after he suffered what appeared to be a thigh strain.

DGN SWIFTS: Morgan, R O’Neill, Montgomery, E Friars (S Lavery, 35), Gallagher (Glackin, 68), Fitzpatrick, Topley, Hazley, S Friars (McKerr, 60), S O’Neill, Cahoon
