The Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan could be facing a bill after damage was caused to the away changing room following last week’s World Cup qualifier in Belfast.

Northern Ireland salvaged a dramatic 1-1 draw courtesy of David Healy’s 96th-minute equaliser at Windsor Park.

Damage was caused to a bench inside the Azerbaijan dressing area – which the Irish Football Association has described as “minimal”.

Linfield Football Club – who own the ground – will be tasked with repairing any damage before reporting back to the IFA.

Geoff Wilson, the Association’s Head of Marketing and Communications, said: “We are aware that there was some damage caused to the away dressing room after Wednesday’s game at Windsor.

“We have asked Linfield Football Club to repair any work that is needed and notify us of costs.

“We will then notify the Azerbaijan football authorities of any details and costings involved. We have to stress that it was minimal damage caused to the changing room, but we are working with Linfield to get any repair work done and we will take things from there.”
