Ballymena United are ready to continue their pursuit of David Jeffrey as they search for a new manager.
Jeffrey has emerged as the Showgrounds club’s number one target following the sacking of Glenn Ferguson on Monday.
It is believed preliminary talks between Ballymena officials and former Linfield chief Jeffrey took place this week.
Further discussions are planned in the coming days as the Braid club looks to lure the 53-year-old back into management.
Jeffrey left Linfield in May 2014 following 17 years at Windsor Park.
He claimed 31 trophies during that time, and his appointment would represent a significant coup for Ballymena if a deal can be completed.
