GLENTORAN should complete the signing of Coleraine striker Leon Knight today.
The Oval club are hoping to finalise paperwork on an 18-month deal for the striker.
It is believed the Glens have agreed a fee in the region of £7,500 for Knight, who has not featured for Coleraine since December 20 after returning to live in England.
The Showgrounds club have refused to pay for the player’s travel and accommodation costs from England, resulting in the recent impasse – Knight’s original contract was based around him residing in Northern Ireland.
One player who will not be moving in the opposite direction is Stephen Carson.
Carson – who moved from Coleraine to east Belfast last summer – was yesterday being tentatively linked with a return to the Showgrounds.
But Bannsiders boss Oran Kearney admitted the reports were wide of the mark.
“It is certainly news to Coleraine. It is not something that is on our radar at this moment in time,” he added.
The Glens – who are currently searching for a new manager – have also been linked with a loan move for Cliftonville midfielder Ciaran Caldwell.
But Reds manager Tommy Breslin last night insisted his player was “going nowhere”.
He added: “It is nothing but rumour.
“Ciaran has been in and out of the team this season and it has been frustrating. He wants more game time and that is understandable.
“But having spoken with the player yesterday I can confirm he is going nowhere.”
Caldwell also rubbished the weekend reports when he said on his Twitter account: “total speculation... When the window closes I will still b a cliftonville player.”
Meanwhile, Glentoran defender Stewart Greacen could be exiting the Oval – only weeks after joining from Derry City.
Elsewhere, Michael McClean and Maros Valko have both left Carrick Rangers.
