Liam Boyce insists Cliftonville will be ‘gunning for victory’ when they travel to title rivals Linfield on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues lead the champions by two points with five fixtures remaining this season.
Some fans have touted Saturday’s showdown at Windsor Park as a potential title decider, and Boyce is hoping his Reds can forge ahead in the race for the Gibson Cup with a vital victory in south Belfast.
“We’re going there to win – that’s the way we approach every game and this one is no different,” Boyce said.
“We know if Linfield win they’ll go five clear and that would be a big advantage at this stage of the campaign. But it’s not a case of us going there and playing negatively or trying to contain the game.
“Our full focus is on winning and going top of the table. Saturday isn’t a title decider, but we want to get our noses in front.”
Elsewhere in Section A on Saturday Crusaders and Portadown meet at Seaview with both clubs battling for third spot in the table, while Glentoran host Glenavon.
In Section B Dungannon Swifts travel to Ballym ena United and Ballinamallard United entertain Coleraine.
