Linfield chairman Jim Kerr: No place for trouble-makers

UGLY: Trouble at Stangmore Park

UGLY: Trouble at Stangmore Park

CHAIRMAN Jim Kerr insists Linfield showed “no hesitation” in imposing a lifetime ban on a fan following the brawl that erupted at the recent game against Dungannon Swifts.

Trouble flared at the end of the Danske Bank Premiership clash between the clubs at Stangmore Park.

Players, stewards, officials and fans became embroiled in an ugly melee after the 1-1 draw.

“There is no place in football for so-called ‘supporters’ like this,” Blues chief Kerr told the News Letter.

“I believe this person’s own supporters’ club imposed a lifetime ban and we showed no hesitation in doing likewise.

“We take a strong stance on people indulging in this kind of behaviour. Any breaches in law will not be tolerated.”
