LINFIELD 0 GLENTORAN 0
This first Big Two clash of the season had everything -- except goals!
Linfield had midfielder Aaron Burns dismissed after 30 minutes for a silly off the ball offence on Ryan O’Neill.
Then, Glentoran’s Jason Hill was sent packing 13 minutes from time after picking up two quick-fire bookings.
Linfield’s Niall Quinn almost broke the deadlock in first half injury time, but his free kick was brilliantly saved by Elliott Morris.
And, in the second half, Glentoran substitute Richard Clarke brought the best out of Blues shot stopper Jonathan Tuffey, who tipped his drive past the post.
The point for the Blues left them rooted to the bottom of the Irish League table.
