Barry Johnston believes there is no reason why Cliftonville can’t dominate the Irish Premiership for “three or four” more years.
The Reds are celebrating back-to-back titles for the first time in the club’s history.
Tommy Breslin’s side have dominated the Irish League landscape over the past 24 months, and midfielder Johnston is confident they can continue that trend next season and beyond.
“There is no reason why this squad can’t dominate the league for three or four more years,” he said.
“‘Bressy’ isn’t sitting still, and he is strengthening the squad with the arrival of Johnny Flynn. And there might be more.
“As long as he doesn’t sign any more central midfielders, then I will be happy enough.
“This side has progressed so much, and it will continue to progress. So we are looking forward to the future.”
Meanwhile, Glentoran are still locked in negotiations with Eddie Patterson over a new deal.
Talks were held on Monday night and further discussions are expected on Tuesday over a new two-year contract for the Glens boss.
