Dungannon Swifts boss Darren Murphy hopes his players can build on last week’s opening day success.
The Swifts earned a late 3-2 victory over Premiership debutants Warrenpoint Town to get their season up and running at the first attempt.
It was a positive start for the Stangmore Park club who will be looking to carry that momentum into Saturday’s game with Ballinamallard United.
The Mallards also enjoyed an opening day victory - beating Crusaders 1-0.
“It was great to get the season up and running with a win on the opening day. It was a good three points,” Murphy said.
“You had to feel a degree of sympathy for Warrenpoint. They scored late on to make it 2-2, but we managed to get a late winner to take the points.
“It is tough in the Premiership and every point counts, so last week was a good win for us.
“Now we have to take that into Saturday’s game with Ballinamallard. They also had a good win last week and enjoyed a great season last time.
“So we know it will be another stern test for us, but it is one we are looking forward to.”
