NORTHERN Ireland Under 17s proved their character as they came from behind to earn a draw against mini-tournament hosts Estonia on Tuesday.
Cliftonville’s Ross Lavery cancelled Frank Liivak’s opener for Estonia as the UEFA European Championship qualifier ended 1-1 in Tallinn.
Stephen Robinson’s side fell behind on 18 minutes when Liivak finished off a Svjatoslav Jakovlev free-kick.
Three minutes later Northern Ireland were back on level terms through Lavery.
The U17s complete their qualifying round campaign on Friday against group leaders England – 1-0 winners over Wales on Tuesday afternoon.
With the top two in the group going through to the Elite Round next spring Robinson’s side still have everything to play for.
