DONEGAL CELTIC 1 GLENAVON 0
DONEGAL Celtic bounced back from their weekend mauling to Glentoran by seeing off Glenavon on Tuesday.
Fresh from their 5-0 drubbing at the Oval Pat McAllister’s side recorded a 1-0 win to boost their survival hopes.
Veteran striker Paul McVeigh bagged the all-important winner, slotting last Andy Coleman in the 68th minute.
Coleman pulled off a number of impressive saves to deny Celtic but McVeigh finally broke the goalkeeper’s resistance with a glancing header from Conor Downey’s cross.
Glenavon could only muster up a set-piece in the first-half that saw Guy Bates draw superb save from ‘keeper John Connolly.
