Ally McCoist has received a well-merited League One Manager of the Month for January award following five successive wins that reinforced Rangers’ iron grip on the title race.

The Ibrox Bosswill hope that form continues when they travel to Somerset Park to face Ayr United today.

Two previous meetings against the ‘Honest Men’ have produced 2-0 and 3-0 wins for ‘Gers with Bilel Mohsni netting in each game.

Mohsni is suspended today as well as central defensive partner Lee McCulloch.

Lewis MacLeod also remains absent through illness.

McCoist insists there is no room for error as they look to march towards the title.

“We’ve won absolutely nothing at this moment in time and we’ve still got a lot to play for,” he added.

“It would be really disappointing if we started dropping out standards because we’ve come so far and the players have been doing really well.

“Their results have been good and their performance against Dunfermline was great last Friday so we’ll be making sure we keep things going in that respect.”
