Ronny Deila has travelled Europe since becoming Celtic manager over two months ago but can at last look forward to his first game at Parkhead.

The Norwegian took his squad to Austria for a pre-season training camp which involved four matches. Further friendlies in Germany and Champions League qualifying ties in Reykjavik and Warsaw meant Deila has clocked up the air miles.

However, with his side having had to play their two home Champions League qualifiers at Murrayfield as Celtic Park was out of commission due to the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Deila has yet to experience a match in the east end of Glasgow.

Celtic will travel to Slovenia to take on Maribor in the first leg of their Champions League play-off next Wednesday but before that, the former Stromsgodset boss will occupy the home dugout for the first time against Dundee United, who are top of the Scottish Premiership table, albeit after only two games.

“I have seen all Europe so that has been fantastic - and I hope we are still going on that road,” said Deila.

“But I am looking forward to Saturday.”

it is going to be a huge game for me, to manage Celtic at Celtic Park for the first time.

“I watched United at Aberdeen (won 3-0). They have a good team, a good philosophy and I like the way they play.

“They are well organised and they have some good players as well so it is going to be a tough game.

“They have won their first two games as well so you can say it is top of the table game even if it is early.”
