Sammy Clingan has been recalled by Michael O’Neill for Northern Ireland’s final two World Cup qualifiers.
O’Neill will name his squad for the double-header against Azerbaijan and Israel on Thursday morning.
Kilmarnock midfielder Clingan tweeted news of his inclusion on Wednesday after missing the last three qualifiers with a knee injury.
“Really please to be back in the international set up again. 2 away games against Azerbaijan and Israel to look forward 2 !,” Clingan said on Twitter.
“Thank u all my killie friends and everyone else for the nice messages. Nice to be called up and involved again !!”
Northern Ireland have two away fixtures to complete their qualifying campaign – Azerbaijan on October 11 followed by Israel four days later.
