WARRENPOINT 2 BALLINAMALLARD 2
Warrenpoint And Ballinamallard had to share the spoils in a scintillating encounter at Stangmore Park with Stephen Hughes’ penalty earning a draw for Barry Gray’s second bottom side.
Warrenpoint deservedly took the lead on 19 minutes.
Liam Bagnall whipped in a dangerous corner from the left and full back Darren King rose highest amongst a crowd of players to head the ball goalwards before it was deflected into his own net by Daniel Keohane.
It was as totally different Ballinamallard who came out for the second half and they equalised five minutes after the break through half-time sub Jason McCartney.
Stuart Hutchinson had already gone close only for Parr to make another fine stop before Ryan Campbell lashed in a stinging shot from the right that Parr could only push into the path of McCartney who sidefooted home from close range.
They then went in front on 63 minutes when Mark McConkey found Hutchinson in space on the edge of the Warrenpoint box and he coolly stroked the ball into the bottom right corner past the advancing Parr from 18 yards.
However, Warrenpoint rallied and levelled from the penalty spot through Stephen Hughes after Cathal Beacom was adjudged to have handled Stephen McCabe’s cross from the left on 74 minutes.
