An IFA Appeals Board ruling last Tuesday confirmed a 12-point league deduction and decision to award Coleraine a 3-0 win for the fixture scheduled to take place on the opening day of the Danske Bank Premiership.

The decisions relate to punishments in connection with the contract status of player Peter McMahon and non-payment of fines.

Fans reacted to the loss of the double appeal with anger over social media and an open letter released by the Portadown Supporters’ Society called for resignations.

However, club chairman Roy McMahon confirmed a decision to “restructure” the Board of Directors by “adding to rather than changing” the set-up.

Saturday’s 1-0 defeat featured negative chants towards McMahon and director Trevor Marshall, with the latter leaving the ground early in the second half and the former involved in an exchange with one supporter.

This video - posted on the Stranocum Ports account on Twitter - offers an example of the unrest within the crowd.
