Minutes after David Jeffrey’s last game as Linfield manager had finished the Blues Board of directors confirmed that his replacement would be Warren Feeney.
Feeney will take over as manager with effect from May 1.
Feeney said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed as manager of Linfield FC. I have been a lifelong supporter of the club and it will be a huge honour and a privilege for me to manage this great club.
“I will be meeting with the players, staff, and directors as soon as possible and I cannot wait to get started in my new role.
“I am well aware of the demands, pressures and expectations at Linfield and I will be doing all in my power to help bring success to the club.
“With the stadium set to undergo major redevelopment in the coming months, this is undoubtedly a period of great change at the club but this is a hugely exciting challenge for me and one that I will approach with enthusiasm and full confidence in the staff and players I will be working with.
“I also look forward to meeting as many of our supporters as possible over the course of the coming months.”
