Warren Feeney insists Linfield will “give it their best shot” against Swedish outfit AIK Solna in the Europa League.

The Blues booked their place in the second qualifying round with a 3-2 aggregate win over B36 Torshavn.

Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw at Mourneview Park was enough to edge Feeney’s side into the next phase.

And the Linfield boss is relishing the stern examination that will face his players over two legs.

“AIK Solna have star names who have played at the top level, so they will be no mugs,” Feeney said.

“We just need to rest up and get ready for next week’s home leg and take it from there.

“It is a free one for the players. They deserve to be in the second round and we should enjoy it.

“I love being underdog – I experienced it plenty of times as a player.

“It is the chance for the players to play at the Swedish national stadium against top quality opposition. It will be tough, but we will give it our best shot.”
