We are on a rollercoaster ride: Quinn

BANGOR boss Marty Quinn is keen to continue the Seasiders' rollercoaster of a season when Glenavon visit Clandeboye Park this afternoon.

At the start of the campaign both clubs were being touted as prime relegation material.

But while the Lurgan Blues are predictably scrapping for their lives at the basement, Bangor are flirting with the big guns of the JJB Sports Premiership.

The Clandeboye club are only five points off the summit in sixth place, and Quinn is desperate to maintain the momentum which has so far kept them from the dreaded drop zone.

"We continue to surprise a few people but that is fine by us. We don't mind shocking onlookers if it means we are sitting safe in the league," he said.

"We have done well so far but there is a long way to go, and while a top six finish is an achievable target out primary ambition is to secure our Premiership status for next season.

"That was the target before a ball was kicked and it remains the same.

"Anything else will be a bonus. It is another big one for us, no doubt about that," he added.

"Glenavon are struggling but they are probably better than their results suggest."
