Tommy Breslin believes Cliftonville will get stronger once their injury list starts to subside.

The Reds’ season has been hampered by a number of key personnel being laid up on the treatment table.

Chris Curran, Ciaran Caldwell, Stephen Garrett and George McMullan remain sidelined, but it is hoped the trio can return to first team in the coming weeks.

“George played for the reserves at the weekend. We thought it was better for him to get 90 minutes in the bank, rather than sit on the bench for the first team,” Breslin said.

“So he will be back soon.

“Chris Curran will hopefully be back before Christmas, while Stevie Garrett and Ciaran Caldwell will be assessed during the week.

“If we get those boys back then all of a sudden it becomes a bigger and stronger squad – and we will need everyone fit.

“We have had injuries and suspensions throughout the season, and we have been down to the bare bones.

“So hopefully we can avoid any further knocks and we start getting those other players back.”
