FOOTBALL: Feeney set for Leeds switch

WARREN Feeney is expected to join Leeds United after undergoing a medical.

The Northern Ireland international, who has one-year left on his Cardiff City contract, finished last season on loan with Dundee United.

During Feeney's season-long loan at Tannadice the 28-year-old striker scored six league goals in 23 appearances.

Leeds boss Simon Grayson is keen to bolster his attacking options with transfer-listed Jermaine Beckford likely to depart this summer.

League One rivals Huddersfield, Norwich and Charlton have all been linked with moves for Feeney, but it appears as though Leeds are in pole position for his signature.

Feeney was a player at Leeds in from 1998 to 2001, but he never played for the Yorkshire club.

The international was enjoying a family day out on Sunday in Belfast, when they watched the Runher Athletics Road Races at CIYMS, Belmont.
