FOOTBALL: Leeman injury a 'huge blow'

GLENTORAN manager Scott Young believes whoever replaces injured skipper Paul Leeman should "relish the challenge".

Leeman (32) has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a hairline fracture to his left tibia in last week's Setanta Sports Cup draw at Bohemians.

"Obviously it is a massive setback for Paul, and also for the club," Young said.

"The injury will rule him out for the remainder of the campaign, but hopefully he can come back stronger next season.

"We are relieved the injury was nothing more serious, and now Paul can concentrate on rehabilitation and getting back to training.

"Paul is a big asset to us, but injuries are part and parcel of football. Now it is up to someone to come in and take their chance.

"It is a challenge for whoever comes in, but they will be up for it."
