FOOTBALL: Morrow could miss rest of season

CRUSADERS midfielder Chris Morrow could miss the rest of the season after picking up an ankle injury.

Morrow limped out of the 1-0 Irish Cup defeat to Portadown at Shamrock Park on Tuesday night.

The playmaker sustained ligament damage and has a chipped done in his ankle.

Morrow's knock followed a serious head injury to club skipper Colin Coates.

Coates was stretchered off and had to spend the night in hospital after falling unconscious – he was released yesterday.

Crusaders assistant boss Terry Moore felt the challenges were over the top, and believes referee Alan Black could have issued sterner penalties.

"We were disappointed with the challenges and felt they could have been dealt with more harshly," he said.

"One was a lunge, the other an elbow, and we lost two key players."
